Post 3 Documenting a Day In the Life of Adrian Using Microsoft Office Programs

Upon reflection of this assignment I have come to realize that in the USAF we use Microsoft office a lot.   Microsoft word is the program that I notice that I interacted with the most on a daily basis mainly because it is a “word processor to format text.” The next program that I realize that I use just as much as Microsoft word is Microsoft excel.  I use this to track information for individuals, and document routing and data charts. Reading in the text it says the excel is “is a common computer application for representing tables of data like text or numbers, for using formulas to calculate data from other data” (from our text ch 5).  I don’t really use power point too much at the job we do having briefings and staff meetings weekly that we use power point to show information, but even so in that presentation there is excel, and word documents embedded on the slides for information.  Here we don’t deal with Microsoft access at all really (I think because no one really knows how to use it). But all in all the application that we use on a day to day basis really help us get the data and information that is need to keep the mission going.
The advantages and disadvantages of each application depending on what you are trying to do.  Word for writing memos, and MFR’s, Excel for all the formulas and data charts that we use, power point to present all the information from all the programs in a organize way.  I think the program that best describe my day is word and powerpoint, and excel to see how much time I am spending doing everything in a day.  I manage the PT program for my Squadron and I use excel to do it because that is the best program to keep all the information that I need on all 277 people in my squadron PT test due date and schedule.
